A True Classic: The Bill Gates & Steve Ballmer ‘Da Da Da’ Microsoft Commercial

I remember seeing this when I went to a Microsoft seminar in St. Louis about 10 years ago–Bill Gates himself made an appearance and I suspect that was the premier of this commercial–can anyone confirm that; does anyone know when and where it first aired?

Also, the ‘stinky’ computer in the backseat (maybe it farted? see blog name if confused) appears to be an IBM–why? It would have made sense if it were an apple, but the video’s too blury for me to be able to tell for sure. Anyone?

I’d also say that this is the best commercial to ever come out of the stinky bowels of Microsoft (I’m not a Microshit fan, by the way).

‘The Screen Savers’ – Linux VS FreeBSD SHOWDOWN – Who Will Reign Supreme?!?!

This is a television show that, apparently, was ACTUALLY done (at first I figured something this dumb and nerdy HAD to be a hoax, but noooo–they did it) where they have two computers, on one they install Linux, and the other FreeBSD. Then, there’s some kind of little showdown or contest where they time and rate the installations on each, benchmark them, etc.

Not only did technology fart with this one, but obviously the producer that thought this was a good idea also had a very particular type of flatulence know as A BRAIN FART!
