Fujifilm Finepix Z300: No Buttons, All Touchscreen

June 12th, 2009 · 1 Comment

fujifilm finepix z300 reviewTouchscreen is taking over: the iPhone was the first major widespread device that was almost all touchscreen, and now everyone else has followed suit. Fujifilm has decided that digital cameras would benefit from this technology, and I agree for one simple reason: it enlarges the display screen on the back by getting rid of the buttons thereby making more room for

the picture. I’m afraid a lot of manufacturers are adding touchscreen capability to their devices when they add nothing to, and often take away from, the usability of their devices because they think it looks cool and hope their customers will think the same and cause them to buy it. However, I love this

new Fujifilm: you get 10-megapixels and 5x optical zoom as before, as well as image stabalization, an improved macro mode, ISO settings up to 1600 and four different colors to choose from. No word on when it’s going to be released in the U.S., but it’s currently on sale in Japan for around $400.
